Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have signed free agent defenceman Yannick Tremblay to a one year deal. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tremblay, 30, played 46 games with the Mannheim Eagles of the German Hockey League (DEL), where he recorded 28 points (11-17-28) and 44 penalty minutes over the 2005-06 season. Tremblay has played 378 NHL games in his career, recording 37 goals, 85 assists (37-85-122) and 166 penalty minutes. In 2003-04, Tremblay played for the Atlanta Thrashers recording 10 points (2-8-10) and 13 penalty minutes in 38 games played. The defenceman played a total of five years with the Thrashers and prior to that was a member of the Toronto Maples Leafs for three seasons.

The 62, 200 lbs, native of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs 145th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
