Vancouver, B.C. Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have re-signed right winger Jan Bulis. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Bulis, 28, played 73 games with the Montreal Canadiens during the 2005-06 season, recording 20 goals, 20 assists (20-20-40) and 50 penalty minutes. In six playoff games last season Bulis recorded two points (1-1-2) and two penalty minutes. An eight-year veteran of the NHL, Bulis has played a career total of 473 NHL games and tallied 222 points (84-138-222) and 198 penalty minutes. The centreman has also played a total of 23 career playoff games and recorded four points (2-2-4) and 12 penalty minutes.

Bulis recently represented the Czech Republic at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy, capturing the bronze medal.

The 60, 208 lbs, native of Pardubice, Czech Republic was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals 43rd overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Bulis joins the Canucks after having played for two NHL teams: the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals.
