NEW YORK/TORONTO -- Vancouver Canucks forward Henrik Sedin, who tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) in three games, has been named the NHL's Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 5.

Minnesota Wild forward Marian Gaborik, who posted six points (5-1--6 in four games), Boston Bruins forward Brad Boyes (3-3--6 in four games) and Vancouver forward Daniel Sedin (2-4--6 in three games) were runners-up for offensive honors.

Sedin recorded points in each game as the Canucks went 2-1-0 for the week. He recorded one goal and three assists in a 7-4 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Jan. 31, posted one goal and one assist in a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames Feb. 3 and notched one assist in a 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Feb. 4.

Sedin, who will represent Sweden at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, has collected 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in his past 11 games, leading Vancouver to a 7-4-0 record in that span. He leads the club in assists with 40 and is second in points with 54. The Canucks host Columbus tonight in the first of four home games leading into the Olympic break.
