Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have re-signed defenceman Bryan Allen to a contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In 2004-05, Allen, 28, played for Voskresensk in Russia, recording three points (0-3-3) and 34 penalty minutes in 19 games. In 2003-04, Allen played in 74 games, racking up 94 minutes in penalties and seven points (2-5-7). In 139 career games over five seasons, Allen has recorded 15 points (7-8-15) and 173 penalty minutes. He has also played in seven playoff games with the Canucks.

Allen, 6-foot-4, 220 lbs., played junior hockey for Oshawa of the OHL, where he was named to the OHL First All-Star team in 1999. This Kingston, Ontario native was chosen fourth overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1998 Entry Draft.
