Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Nathan McIver has been recalled, and forward Jason Jaffray has be re-assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

McIver, 23, has recorded four points (2-2-4) and 72 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Moose this year. He has also posted a plus/minus rating of plus eight thus far this season. McIver had been recalled earlier this week and re-assigned on January 9th.

 McIver, made his NHL debut during the 2006-07 season, playing one game with the Canucks. The 6-foot-2, 205 lbs. native of Summerside, Prince Edward Island played 63 games with the Moose last season, recording 139 penalty minutes.

 McIver was originally drafted by Vancouver 254th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

 Jaffray, 26, has played in 19 games for the Moose this season, recording 21 points (10-11-21) and 34 penalty minutes. He made his NHL/Canucks debut on December 12th at Anaheim and scored his first career goal helping the Canucks defeat the Ducks, 3-2. In 13 NHL games since his recall, Jaffray recorded five points (2-3-5) and 13 penalty minutes.
