Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have re-signed forward Josh Green to a one-year contract.
Green, 28, split the 2005-06 season between Vancouver and the club's AHL Affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, playing 33 games with the Canucks, recording six points (4-2-6) and 14 penalty minutes. In 35 games with the Moose, Green had 31 points ( 7-24-31 ) and 33 penalty minutes.
Green made 10 post-season appearances with the Moose, scoring five goals, five assists and notched 23 penalty minutes.
The 6'3", 215-pound native of Camrose , Alberta has played for a total eight NHL teams including Vancouver . Green began his NHL career with the Los Angeles Kings and has since played for the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames and New York Rangers.
Green was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the second round, 30 th overall in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
