Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver Canucks, in conjunction with the city of Penticton, British Columbia, announced today that the Okanagan city will host the team’s Training Camp in the imminent future, pending approval of a new arena.

“We are pleased to commit a future Vancouver Canucks Training Camp to the storied hockey city of Penticton, British Columbia,” said Vancouver Canucks Vice President and Assistant General Manager, Steve Tambellini. “The construction of a new arena in Penticton will not only allow the Canucks to have a premier facility to train, but the legacy of the new arena will also provide the groundwork for further development of hockey in British Columbia and for Penticton to continue to be one of the elite hockey communities in BC.”

The city of Penticton hosts the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame and lays claim to being only one of three British Columbian teams to have won the Ice Hockey World Championships; the Penticton Vees defeated the Soviets in Germany, bringing home the title in 1955.
