Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have re-signed forward Alexandre Burrows to a three-year contract.

Burrows, 25, played 43 games with the Canucks in his first NHL season, registering 12 points (7-5-12), 61 penalty minutes and finished a plus five after being recalled from the Manitoba Moose on January 2, 2006.
Burrows’ stint with the Canucks saw him score his first career hat trick on March 27, 2006 versus the Los Angeles Kings, becoming only the fifth rookie in franchise history to achieve this feat.

Burrows returned to Manitoba to play in 13 post-season games, recording 13 points (6-7-13) and 27 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-1, 196 lbs., native of Pincourt, Quebec, spent the 2004-05 season with the Manitoba Moose. He played in 72 games, tallying 9 goals, 17 assists (9-17-26) and 107 penalty minutes.

Burrows signed a pro contract with the Manitoba Moose and Vancouver Canucks on October 21, 2003.
